Torn apart in this way, the couple separate and eventually Reg stops paying for their keep, until Cathy and her ohme are thrown onto the streets. No doubt there will be a fuss worked up about this play or documentary or whatever we decide to call it. Cathy and Reg fall on hard times when Reg is injured at work. The trailer for the drama about an out-of-work carpenter wrestling with the welfare system after suffering a heart attack.

When Newman left independent television to take up a post as Head of Drama with the BBC, he took his hard-hitting play format with him. The play tells the story of a young couple, Cathy played by Carol White and Reg Ray Brooksand their descent into poverty and catuy.
